DDOE Programs
Access resources from the District Department of the Environment to help you Save Energy and Money District of Columbia ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate Program District of Columbia residents who replace an existing appliance with a new ENERGY STAR® appliance purchased on or after October 25, 2010, are eligible to apply for the rebate (no retroactive rebates will be allowed). Approved applicants will receive a check via mail. ACT NOW! Rebates are not guaranteed and are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. This program ends as soon as funds are exhausted. Rebates must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase.
Energy Assistance for Low-Income Residents Help paying energy bills DDOE helps eligible District residents pay heating and cooling bills. If you're eligible, you can receive between $49 and $1,300 as a one-time benefit for your household. Emergency energy assistance is available to low-income District residents who have received a disconnection notice for electric or gas service, or are currently disconnected. Assistance is also available to residents without home heating oil. The amount of assistance is based on household size, total household income, heating source, and type of dwelling.
Utility Discounts DDOE's Utility Discount Programs help low-income District residents reduce their utility costs. To qualify, your utility bills must be in your own name, and you must meet income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
