3.28.2010 - GREEN DMV caught up with He'lchie Watts in front of the historic Lincoln Theatre on U street, in Northwest Washington, DC. He'lchie is a graduate of Green DMV's Greater Washington Green Jobs Corps training program and is currently employed with Washington Gas Energy Services.





2.3.2010 - GREEN DMV launches the Retro-Rescue Project at Gospel Rescue Ministries, a homeless shelter in Washington, DC's Ward 6. The project aimed to cut energy costs at the shelter as well as expose the residents to green jobs.






11.14.2009 - As a part of the 1Sky "Art for Climate" project, Green DMV held a Green Kids! event at Children's Studio School in Northwest, Washington, DC. The students created an environmentally friendly mural to be delivered to members of congress.





8.14.2009 - Green DMV held its first Greater Washington Green Jobs Corps graduation in Washington, DC. The event celebrated the graduation of ten unemployed DC residents that received training in the clean energy construction trade.





4.27.2009 - Green DMV hosted the first annual Environmental Awareness Day at Jefferson-Houston School for Arts and Academics in Alexandria City, VA. The event introduced students to the impact that everyday actions have on the environment.







3.14.2009 - The DC Youth Environmental Alliance hosted a Youth Summit for DC high school students at Sidwell Friends School that brought together students from all quadrants of the city to empower them to get involved in sustainably rebuilding their schools and communities. The event was designed to create a dialogue about climate change and social and environmental justice.






11.18.2008 - Green DMV co-sponsors a call for Climate Action Now on Capitol Hill. Supporters gathered on Capitol Hill to hear empowering speeches from Bill McKibben, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, Gillian Caldwell, Philip O'Neal, Mike Tidwell and others.






7.17.08 - Al Gores delivers his "Green energy by 2018" speech for his wecansolveit.org campaign. In Washington DC, Al Gore challenged the nation to transform the way it produces electricity, moving to a 100 percent renewable and non-carbon system within 10 years. His goal is to attack simultaneously the interconnected problems with energy prices, security and global climate change.






5.8.08 - Green DMV co-founder speaks to the Partnership for Public Service, American University, Young Government Leaders and the 13L group. Philip O'Neal, discusses the Green DMV mission to transition small businesses in DC, VA, and MD from consumption-based to conservation-based business practices and help to uplift small and disadvantaged communities in the green economy.






4.5.08 - Green DMV co-founder delivers speech on the opportunities of the New Green Economy for businesses in DC, VA, and MD. The event was hosted by Creative Cause, the Summit commemorates the 40th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Assassination in partnership with George Washington University Multicultural Student Services Center and Howard University School of Business.
