Green DMV promotes three programs as vehicles to move its mission forward to bring sustainability to low income communities and create a green collar workforce in these communities. The programs include the Green DMV Business Program, Green Kids!, and the Greater Washington Green Jobs Corps.

The Green DMV Business Program assists in retrofitting small and disadvantaged businesses in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia to reduce their carbon footprint and create a more sustainable business environment in the low-income community. Green DMV conducts sustainability assessments to help these small and disadvantaged businesses realize the true benefit of "going green" and offer them an opportunity to positively manage their impact on the environment through low and no-cost sustainable solutions.

The Green Kids! program introduces students to the concept of climate change and environmental conservation while providing them with tools to make environmentally conscious choices in their lives. Beyond simply raising awareness, Green DMV seeks to foster an environmental literacy program that will help prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of a clean energy economy. By introducing students at a young age to the urgency of the current environmental crisis, we can affect their fundamental attitudes towards the environment and help raise a generation of young people that make protecting the environment a priority and a way of life.

The Greater Washington Green Jobs Corps is essential in creating a green job workforce in the Washington Metropolitan area. Through strategic partnerships with community organizations and government agencies, our program significantly contributes to the sustainability of low-income communities by helping to reduce recidivism through green job opportunities, enable blue collar workers to transition into new "green-collar" jobs and give at-risk youth a pathway into the new green economy through green job training opportunities..
